My condolences go out to Roy's family and all his family at the Nipigon Fire Department. I have fond memories of my time spent with Roy and all fellow fire fighters during my tenure in Nipigon in the 80's.My thoughs and prayers are with you during these trying times.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the members of Nipigon FD and Roy's family and friends and all who were dear to him. I was shocked and saddened at the news of his passing, I had the pleasure to work with Roy at a few large fires over the last few years and always enjoyed our conversations at Fire Con. He will be truly missed by all who knew him and the entire fire service.

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we reach out to the family, friends, fire team and community on the incredible, sudden and unimaginable loss of your Chief and beloved friend, Roy Cross.

Roy was ALWAYS welcoming with a warm smile that could brighten any room. We always looked forward to the Nipigon boys training with us at and Thunder Bay Fire College training courses and during FireCon.

I had the personal pleasure of training some of the Company Officer Modules with Roy and some of his team and had the good fortune to learn some great things from their combined years in the fire service. I will always credit you guys for some of the great IMS tips I still use today-Thank you!

May Roy's boundless spirit and character continue to guide you through this very difficult time.

We are SO glad we were able to see him at this year's FireCon!

It was with great sadness that I read about about Roys Passing. I had many a good laugh with him over the years. On behalf of myself and the Collingwood Fire Department we offer our condolences to both the family and the department. He will truley be missed.

On behalf of the Township of King Fire and Emergency Services I wish to offer my most sincere condolences on the loss of Fire Chief Cross.
Roy was a great man who I enjoyed getting to know over the last serveral years through the OAFC and other fire services related activities. He always spoke very highly of his staff and his family and I will miss the opportunities to chat with him again. He will be missed, RIP Roy.
